Shadow Mapping
As a spiritual seeker, one of my paths was studying Peruvian shamanism with the Four Winds Society. My Shadow Mapping series came from this work; charting dreams, visioning and working with shadow aspects of myself toward the purpose of finding freedom from past entanglements both personal and ancestral.
I created them by photographing my shadow, then layering, through photomontage, personally symbolic images. I used this technique and style to respond to the cultural and political landscape of the Me Too movement and women’s empowerment.
